Takedowns and rights complaints

Read this part first

Vrootok does not host any media. No video, audio, or image is stored on our servers. When you use the tool, the file travels from TikTok's own content delivery network to your browser; we locate it and step out of the way.

In practice that means a takedown notice sent here cannot remove content from the internet, because the content is not here. To have a post taken down, the notice has to go to the platform hosting it — TikTok's copyright team — or to the uploader directly.

What we can do

If a specific URL on this site genuinely infringes your rights, or if a page here is being used to point people at infringing material, write to [email protected] and we will review it. Where the complaint is valid we will remove or block the page and respond to you in writing.

What a notice needs to include

A description of the work you hold rights in, specific enough to identify it. The exact URL on this site you are complaining about — not the homepage, and not a search result. Your name, your role, and a working contact address. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them. Your signature, electronic is fine.

Incomplete notices get a reply asking for the missing pieces rather than action, so it is faster to include everything the first time.

Counter-notices

If something of yours was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address identifying what was removed, where it was, and why you believe the removal was in error. Include your contact details and a statement under penalty of perjury.

Bad-faith notices

Knowingly filing a false claim carries legal consequences in most jurisdictions. Please be sure before you send.
